Maya tells stories that are true, playful and simple, informed by ideas from anthropology, which she studied in undergrad. Maya is interested in complicating and broadening the stories we live by, aiming to create space for change.
Maya is currently studying her Masters of Screen Arts (Documentary) at AFTRS, where she is learning to write, direct and shoot. Her first short documentary, First Contact, will be premiering at Antenna Film festival in February 2026. She is currently building her portfolio of Music Videos and wedding videography.
